Systems

If rhythm connects mind and matter, systems are what make that connection measurable. I design and build experimental setups that link sound, physiology, and behavior, align devices, signals, and time. This page documents that process. Here you can find practical notes on synchronization, hardware, and workflows that turn abstract ideas into working systems.

Multimodal Data Acquisition Lab - Ernst Strüngmann Institute

During my PhD, I grew interest in the technical parts of science. We base our findings in the systems built for data collection. But how are these systems built? My job at ESI was a "be careful what you wish for" moment. The position involved not only a shift into systems neuroscience and a novel, largely uncharted topic but also the task of building the laboratory needed to study it entirely from scratch. Here I share my experiences while doing so.
